Filippo Lanubile from the Dipartimento di Informatica of University of Bari visited us and presented the seminar Challenges emerging in developing AI-enabled systems.

Abstract: AI-enabled systems are software systems that use AI to provide value for users, ranging from product recommenders to voice and facial recognition. Despite the increasing interest, many companies are still struggling to take a model developed by a data scientist and deploy it as part of a scalable and maintainable system. In this seminar, we will provide an overview of the main challenges for both data scientists and software engineers when transitioning from AI protypes to production-ready AI-enabled system. In this perspective, we will present our research work on the validation of computational notebooks and the investigation of MLOps practices.
